JULY COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHTS

We launched our brand-new Community Spotlight series this past month to celebrate the legends who bring the vibes, the energy, and the heart to our courts, and wow, what a way to kick things off.

As we ride the summer wave and our holiday camps keep the sand sizzling, we’re hitting pause to shout out some of the people who’ve made July an extra special month in our Deep Dish community.

WHAT THIS SERIES IS ALL ABOUT

These spotlights aren’t just about standout serves or winning points. They’re about recognising the people who bring our values to life: community, growth, good vibes, and a love for the game. From running a session, cheering on a teammate, or simply showing up consistently with great energy, these are the people that make Deep Dish more than just a volleyball club.

LOUIS BERNARD

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to launch our Spotlight Series than with Louis, a true pillar of the Crystal Palace crew.

If you’ve been to Friday Night Lights or any tournament at Crystal Palace, chances are Louis has greeted you with good vibes and even better energy. Originally a regular in our advanced sessions, Louis quickly made an impact with his commitment and love for the game.

Even after an injury took him off the court, he didn’t miss a beat—stepping up to run FNL sessions and tournaments, keeping the good energy flowing for everyone else. His care, organisation, and enthusiasm haven’t just helped sessions run smoothly—they’ve elevated them.

Louis, your leadership and presence have left a real mark. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the family.

MO KERAI

Kicking off our Bournemouth Coaching Spotlight, it’s none other than Mo Kerai - a coach who’s been making serious impact on and off the court.

For players of all levels, from a first-time player or a seasoned baller, Mo’s sessions have been getting nothing but glowing reviews. From his welcoming energy to his deep technical knowledge, he’s created an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and included.

It’s no easy feat to bring the vibe and the know-how, but Mo does it every time. His ability to explain concepts clearly, encourage players, and create a buzzing atmosphere is exactly what Deep Dish is about.

Mo, you’re a game-changer in every sense, and we’re so glad to have you leading from the front.

RUTA PRUSAITIENE

Down in Bournemouth, Ruta is a name that comes up often - and always with a smile.

Nominated by a fellow player, Ruta was praised for her positive energy, dedication, and the way she uplifts others. She’s been a regular on the sand, constantly improving her own game, but even more impressively, encouraging others to give beach volleyball a go.

Whether it’s supporting a new teammate or leading by example in drills, Ruta shows what being part of a community is all about. Her progress has been amazing to watch, and her kindness hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Ruta, thank you for being such a vibrant, supportive, and inspiring part of the Deep Dish fam!

GOT SOMEONE IN MIND?

We want your help! If there’s someone in your session who deserves a spotlight: someone who always brings the hype, lifts others up, or just quietly makes the magic happen, then please let us know.

Nominations are open all year round. Let’s keep the love going.

To all our coaches, players, and community members: thank you for being you. Let’s keep building something special, one serve, smile, and sandy high-five at a time ;)
