ENGLAND TRIALS FOR DEEP DISH JUNIORS TOMO, OTTO & BAILEY
This past month we had our very own Bailey go for England Indoor Trials for the Cadets (u17) and has been invited back to their summer camp with the rest of the squad! Its likely that Bailey will be an England Cadet for the 23-24 cycle.
From our U17 Indoor Tier 1 Boys team, Tomo, Otto and Bailey went to England Beach trials for the Youth Commonwealth Games. It's the first time Deep Dish Beach Juniors have been involved with the England Beach Programme and we are so excited to see that they have been captured in the England Beach System at such a young age.
DEEP DISH JUNIORS TAKE HOME GOLD AT JUNIOR GRAND PRIX
Stan and Tomo won our UKBT U17's Grand Prix event in an all Deep Dish Beach Final beating Bailey and Otto. 4 out of the 8 teams competing in the Boys division were representing the Deep Dish Junior Beach Volleyball Community. Deep Dish teams finished: 1st Stan & Tomo, 2nd Bailey & Otto, 4th Wilbur & Sid, and 5th Riley & Federico.
In the girls competition Grace & Jen had a fantastic tournament and finished 5th and were the only team (for now ;)) representing Deep Dish Beach!
We have our next major Junior event on July 1st & 2nd in Sandbanks for U13, U15, U17 and U19s, and look forward to seeing all our Deep Dish Juniors there!
JUNIORS PLAYING ON THE SENIOR TOUR
It's been fantastic to see our Junior players competing in UKBT Senior events. We have had Erin Schilling and Amelie Burnell competing in the 2*, putting themselves up against fierce competition. It's fantastic to see them throwing themselves in the deep end and competing amongst adults.
We have also had Bailey & Otto competing in a 2* competition doing well, taking teams close in sets and really showing that they can play at a higher level than just the Junior UKBT. It's wonderful to see our athletes striving for tougher competition and doing so well!
END OF JUNIOR TERM 2 INDOOR SEASON
This year Deep Dish Crystal Palace made history for the club by entering the U15 Tier 1 National Competition with the Deep Dish boy's team claiming 3rd place in the competition, an amazing feat considering it was the clubs first outing into the Tier 1 competition.
The girls team won 2 golds at the Tier 2 Grand Prix’s and went unbeaten throughout the competition. We will be looking to enter the girls into Tier 1 next year so they can create their own history next season.
We are excited to build on the success of this year by building both squads ready for U16 Tier 1 with providing more session and top coaching. We would welcome anyone interested in joining the club to come for a trial and see what Deep Dish is all about.
